HIV workplace policy

Regulations on HIV/AIDS at the workplace will help avoid any unwitting or unintentional illegal act.

A non-discriminatory working environment is constructive for all staff members, enhances motivation, and boosts productivity.

By introducing regulations on HIV/AIDS at the workplace, you can demonstrate your social commitment both internally and externally, thus highlighting yourself as a forward-looking, open-minded socially-conscious employer with social competence. This commitment will earn you additional points when reporting according to GRI (Global Reporting Initiative www.globalreporting.org).

With your endeavours to reduce any form of stigmatisation and prejudice against people living with HIV/AIDS, you make an important economic contribution and help to promote the implementation of the fifth revision of disability insurance, which includes measures to maintain and improve the ability to work.

With a few amendments you can adjust the suggested regulations so that they cover not only HIV/AIDS but also other chronic diseases. Should you decide to introduce such regulations and integrate guidelines with respect to HIV/AIDS, the Swiss Aids Federation will be delighted to help you.
