A good many employers are engaged in the field of HIV/AIDS in the workplace.

The canton of Aargau
As an employer, the canton of Aargau has often advertised vacancies on the job market of the Swiss AIDS Federation, thus indicating its readiness to welcome people with HIV/AIDS to positions in the cantonal administration.
Migros
Migros took advantage of its Symposium on Health Management in Autumn 2008 to sensitise those in its management executive responsible for staff health on HIV/AIDS issue and to update their knowledge on the subject. Migros demonstrates its social responsibility not only internally but to the population as a whole by raising awareness about HIV/AIDS. On 1 December 2008, for example, an interview was published in the Migros Magazine with Daniel Bruttin, the Managing Director of the Swiss AIDS Federation, dealing with, among other things, discrimination at the workplace (Interview PDF 76 KB in German).
Pfizer
With its HIV / Aids Workplace Policy Pfizer pledges comprehensive protection for employees with HIV/AIDS and makes it clear that the company is committed not only to the welfare of patients, but to that of any staff members living with HIV/AIDS as well.
Roche
Since July 2004, Roche has had guidelines on HIV/AIDS at the workplace (Roche Guidelines on HIV at the workplace PDF 350 KB). In its endeavors to dispel both stigmatisation and prejudice against people with HIV/AIDS, Roche is making a major socio-economic contribution in attempting to prevent people from dropping out of employment.
UBS
For many years, UBS has been active in the field of HIV/AIDS and, for example, in 2004, it ran a prevention campaign on HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, syphilis and other sexually transmitted diseases for its employees in collaboration with the Health Services of the city of Zurich and the AIDS Advisory Service in Zurich. In 2009, UBS expanded its field of engagement as regards HIV/AIDS at the workplace by drawing up two declarations of principle in conjunction with worker representatives, diversity specialists, staff networks, legal services, HR representatives and other UBS group members, subsequently publishing these on the UBS-Intranet in February 2009. The first declaration focused on Protection from Discrimination based on Disability and Chronic Illness (PDF 181 KB) and the second on Protection from Discrimination based on HIV/AIDS status (PDF 183 KB). In order to promulgate these declarations of principle, the line managers at all levels were informed by personnel advisors, while newly recruited employees would find them in their information folders on taking up their positions. By adopting this clear stance against discrimination of employees with health disadvantages, UBS demonstrates that it is a progressive, open-minded and socially responsible employer whose engagement goes far beyond the bounds of its business activities.
